Process#
- Soften the cream cheese to cool room temperature, about 60°F.
- Beat the shortening until smooth and slightly aerated.
- Add the cream cheese.
- Beat until uniform and smooth.
- Add the confectioners’ sugar in 2 to 3 additions.
- Mix on low speed after each confectioners’ sugar addition.
- Beat on medium speed until smooth.
- Add the salt, vanilla extract, corn syrup, and butter extract.
- Mix until spreadable or slow-flowing.
- Beat for 15 to 30 seconds to finish.

- Too sour and cream cheesey.
