  2. 2.Beat the shortening until smooth and slightly aerated.
  3. 3.Add the cream cheese.
  4. 4.Beat until uniform and smooth.
  5. 5.Add the confectioners' sugar in 2 to 3 additions.
  6. 6.Mix on low speed after each confectioners' sugar addition.
  7. 7.Beat on medium speed until smooth.
  8. 8.Add the salt, vanilla extract, corn syrup, and butter extract.
  9. 9.Mix until spreadable or slow-flowing.
  10. 10.Beat for 15 to 30 seconds to finish.
