  1. 1.In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream the dry ingredients with the softened butter until the butter is well incorporated.
  2. 2.Add the eggs and anisette and mix until combined, scraping down the bowl as necessary.
  3. 3.Roll the dough into desired sized logs and refrigerate or freeze.
  4. 4.Brush the logs with egg whites and sprinkle with granulated sugar before baking.
  5. 5.Bake at 325°F (163°C) until evenly browned and firm to the touch.
  6. 6.Slice the biscotti into desired sized slices and place on sheet pans.
  7. 7.Bake a second time at 225°F (107°C) until dry.
