  1. 1.Whisk the whole milk, buttermilk, and eggs and keep cold.
  2. 2.In a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, mix together the dry ingredients and butter until the butter is ¼-inch, or "pea sized."
  3. 3.Mix the inclusions into the dry mixture to combine.
  4. 4.Add the egg/milk mixture to the dry ingredients and mix just until a dough is roughly formed. Do not over mix. Pat or roll out the dough to about ¾-inch thick.
  5. 5.Cut the scones into the desired shape and brush the top of each with heavy cream.
  6. 6.Bake at 350°F (177°C) until lightly browned and just baked through.
